Pre wedding rituals

Bridal shower: Bridal shower is one of the most important traditions of Christian wedding. This is informal entertaining and enjoyable party which is hosted by the girl’s family. Its mainly the female party where female sung a song, dance and play some joyful game. The bride’s family and friend give gifts and wish for there happy married life. The bride’s serves a pink cake. There is a thimble hidden inside the cake and it’s believed of people that a girl who obtains the cake with a thimble will be the next married.

Bachelor’s party: This is the ceremony which is hosted by groom for his friends. It’s a pre organized party which is celebrated few days before the wedding or it can be on the wedding day. The groom enjoys his last day as a bachelor. It’s a enjoyable moment and celebrated by very close friends.

Wedding day celebration

Welcoming the bride: This is the welcoming ceremony of the bride. On the day of wedding groom sends a car to pick up the bride. The groom waits for the bride at the outside of the church. It’s the tradition of Christian wedding, when the bride arrives at church, the best man of the groom welcomes the bride with a kiss on her cheek and hand. The couple reaches to the place where the priest is waiting for the wedding.

The wedding mass: the wedding mass is the ceremony where priest starts the wedding hymns and selected reading from the bible. The priest distributes a speech with the importance of purity of marriage. After that the couple changes the wedding rings. The rings are firstly blessed by the priest. The wedding ceremony ends with the wishes of the priest. At the end of wedding ceremony the newly wed couple signs the register and walk away arm in arm.

Post wedding day
The post wedding ceremony is the reception which held to celebrate the wedding. This is the grand party which is gathered by friends, relatives and colleagues. The newly married pair cut the cake and feed each other. The newly bride and groom catch their first dance. The bride and her father then groom and the bride’s mother, the bride and the groom’s father and his mother follow this dance. After dinner the wedding couple leaves for reception.
